Sucks.
Life. Just. Sucks.
Here’s an idea. I thought of it just now after staring at those three words for a good 30 seconds. For everything I complain about, I will mention something that makes me happy. Something that makes me laugh. Something that makes me smile.
So, in return for making the depressing statement that life simply sucks, I’ll tell you a stupid story. Because stupid stories are the funniest ones.
It’s history class. I’m sitting next to Caroline. We are given Korean War review questions to answer, and I get ready to begin. I am using one of those weird four-color pens that have different retractable inks. I automatically assume it’s clicked to black. I touch pen to paper and stroke out the form of a cursive L to write my name, and, Holy God, it was pink. I immediately pick up the pen and exclaim, “THA FU—?!” To which Caroline responds with laughter so unstoppable and contagious that even I can’t breathe. I mostly keep laughing because I don’t understand why it’s so funny to her.
